Your "tour" reminds me of my own first trip to Venice, in October 1983. Some of the art in the churches was better than what some of the museums had on display. (I don't think I'd make another trip to Venice today, what with the overwhelming crowds and those horrible huge ships. The city was manageable then in a way it certainly is not now.) I did enjoy the Guggenheim.
I laughed at your equation of bananas consumed versus prices of admissions. You'd have to eat many many more of them today, even for a combination ticket.

Ha. True. i mean i worked on a Rembrandt show years ago and many of the non-Rembrandts!
